Overview

All are welcome to the Women in Business Lunch on the 2nd Thursday of each month.

Hannah Danson leads a monthly Women in Business for Your Partnerships. This time will be a wonderful time to gather some of the most talented women from Cornwall and beyond to build

powerful connections to help each other. This is a safe space where anything and everything can be shared. Bring yourself (and maybe some business cards) and leave with new friends and connections.

We are excited to announce that we have a guest speaker for this event, the amazing Katherine George, founder of Oh So Social. She will be talking about life with a chronic condition, as she explains below:

You don’t look sick: thriving in business with a body that doesn’t always cooperate.

I will share my journey of living and leading with Sjögren’s disease, an invisible chronic illness that reshaped my definition of success.

I launched my social media marketing agency in 2014, which grew rapidly and forged my reputation as a social media expert and thriving female entrepreneur. Then came the plot twist I didn’t expect: symptoms that didn’t make sense and a body that no longer cooperated. Fatigue, pain and the fear of losing my sight shook the foundation I’d worked years to build. Like many women, I had been conditioned to push harder and prove myself constantly. But when I was finally diagnosed in 2022, I faced a new question: At what cost?    My diagnosis became a turning point: letting go of perfectionism; creating boundaries that supported my health; and redefining success.

The talk highlights the unseen struggles of women with chronic illness in professional spaces, confronting the culture that equates worth with productivity. Ultimately, it offers a compassionate model of leadership rooted in adaptability, authenticity, and balance, reminding audiences that thriving doesn’t require perfection, only the courage to lead differently.
